1880 Census Image, Brookhaven, Suffolk County, New York ~

1880 Census, Brookhaven, Suffolk, NY

The above census image from 1880, Suffolk County, NY -
Page #83, Supervisor dist No 2, Enumeration dist No 315;
Done in June of 1880; Top right corner reads 153 A

Note: I nearly missed my gggrandfather altogether while browsing these images at Ancestry.com -
He and the rest of the family were lucky enough to be those located directly beneath those two strips
of dirty tape, or whatever those two dark marks are in the middle of the page.

1880 Census, Henry Corwin Family

Here you can see (look closely) Henry Corwin, followed by his wife, Mary E,
their son, George, and their daughter... umm...
Debbie? Nibbie? Millie? Ninnie?
(I honestly can't tell)

1880 Census, Henry Corwin of Suffolk

In this view (above) you can see the occupations of both Henry and Mary...
Now if only I could read it...

1880 Census, Henry Corwin, Brookhaven, Long Island

Here we can see, by looking all the way to the right, that Henry's parents were also born
in New York, and so were Mary's (maiden name: Bayles)

CENSUS IMAGES FOR SUFFOLK CO. (L.I.), NY, 1880 ~ AVAILABLE @ ANCESTRY.COM

Membership is required (and well worth it in general!) Also, images are not searchable at this time,
so be sure to make notes as you browse these pages, keeping track of those you have looked at, etc,
in the likely chance that you may need to browse some, then return at a later point to browse some
more, repeating the process within your free time until you have found your ancestor!

By the way, I tend to prefer Netscape as my personal browser (visually, I think it's better),
but - BUT - in this instance, for viewing census images at Ancestry.com, I do suggest you
use Internet Explorer. The MrSid Image Viewer plug-in works much better within it...
(seeing as it didn't work at all in my Netscape!) ...Happy hunting, all!
